Emergency Operations Center
Mission Statement:
The MHA Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is tasked with creating and maintaining the comprehensive framework that the reduce the overall vulnerability of communities and government infrastructure on the Ft. Berthold Reservation by coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters.
The MHA EOC is focused on the implementation of effective and safe coordination and collaboration to assure a synchronized Whole Community approach to disaster/emergency consequence management and delivery of Core Capabilities across the
Mission Areas of Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery.

Emergency Operations Center Definition:
The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is the physical location where the coordination of information and resources to support incident management (on-scene operations) activities normally takes place.
An EOC is used to focus on the response and initial recovery from an emergency.
The core functions of an EOC include;
Command and Coordination
Information Sharing/Situational Awareness
Resource Allocation and Tracking
EOC’s help form a common operating picture during an incident, provide external coordination to on-scene command, and secure additional resources, and facilitate the sharing of operational information and subject matter expertise in support of incident management and response activities.
EOC’s are activated in levels according to the scale and complexity of an emergency/disaster, but maintain 24/7 monitoring of potential and/or ongoing threats/risks.
