  People's Fund 2014 Distribution

July 21, 2014

The 2014 People’s Fund checks have been mailed.  The Tribal Business Council has the authority per Resolution No. 13-004-VJB - January 04, 2013,  to “offset distributions against liquidated debts owed by the payee to the MHA Nation or any of its agencies” and Resolution No. 14-112-VJB - July 10, 2014, “Unless there is an approved loan and repayment schedule in effect prior to the distribution close out date of July 1 of the distribution year…and the member is not in default on that schedule, any monies owed to the Tribe, to any Tribal Enterprise or to the Tribal Court, shall be deducted from any members distribution at the rate of one half (1/2) of annual…distribution amount until such debt and/or obligation to the Tribe is paid in full…”

If you received less than $500.00 it is because your name was on a delinquent account list submitted by these entities:

Three Affiliated Tribes District Court – Contact:  Judy Black Hawk (701) 627-4803
Fort Berthold Housing Authority – Contact:  Wally Kowitz (701) 627-4731
Three Affiliated Tribes Finance Department – Enrolled members that are no longer employed with TAT but have outstanding travel and salary advances. – Contact (701) 627-4781 Sarah Billing or Felicia Jimenez

This year Small Loans and Northern Star Gift Shop deductions were not included.  You will soon be notified by mail as to which Tribal entity your check was deducted for.  You can then contact that entity and resolve the delinquent account with them.
